About Soho House & Co.
Soho House was founded in London, in 1995, as a private members’ club for those in film, media and creative industries.

We have since expanded to include Houses across Europe and North America, as well as restaurants, cinemas, spas and hotels.

Founded by Soho House, a private club for the film and creative industries, this art deco building on swanky beachside Collins Avenue offers rooms to nonmembers.

Luxe quarters, filled with antiques, have a raetro 1950's or European style. They include free WiFi and flat-screens, and some have terraces, soaking tubs and ocean views.

Nonmembers agree to no photos or cell phones in common areas. The pool and beach have waiter service. Dining options include a rooftop taqueria and tequila bar, an elegant garden restaurant and an art deco Cuban coffee bar with cigars. There's also full-service spa, a gym and a screening room.

Mentorship
Soho Mentorship was set up in 2018 as a 16-week programme that connects Soho House members with young people in their city, to grow their connections, confidence and experience - providing a route for them to access their chosen creative field.

Each mentee is given a Soho House membership to help grow their network, and members who take part will receive training on how to deliver advice and coaching.

This year we are mentoring in: London, Oxfordshire, New York, Amsterdam, Toronto, Berlin, Los Angeles, Chicago, Mumbai and Hong Kong.

Our Stories
Our digital team is focused on improving the member experience through the SH.APP and other digital platforms

Tell us about what you do
As the CTO, it’s my job to create a state-of-the-art digital member experience, via the SH.APP, our website and in our Houses. In the past two years, we’ve built a digital platform that powers this and is unique to membership businesses. We’re now working towards making this platform modular to allow other MCG brands to onboard. Most recently, we’ve created ‘hybrid’ experiences that blur the boundaries of digital and physical. Digital products including House Connect are furthering this vision. The Soho Digital team bring together expertise in software engineering, data, information technology, security and CRM systems, which come together as products: House Pay, Connect, table bookings, and so on. This work has collectively transformed the member experience.

How did you get here?
I trained as a software engineer before earning a PhD in artificial intelligence. I then spent 10 years at Accenture leading digital transformation programmes for large organisations before moving to CTO roles. The Soho House opportunity was hard to resist, and it hasn’t been short of what attracted me in the first place.

On a personal front, I was born and raised in Delhi before moving to Sydney where I lived for 14 years. I moved to London five years ago for the love of the British weather.

Where do you live?
I live between the commons in Battersea, where I’ve been since moving to London. We love the area for its green spaces, cafes, and great schools.

Favourite food?
Italian and Indian. I also love cooking and have mastered butter chicken.

Favourite drink?
Skinny cap and Indian chai in the day, and Scotch whisky at night.

Who do you admire the most?
From a business perspective, Bill Gates. The way he started, what he did and what he’s doing now with his money is inspiring.

What’s your biggest achievement?
It’s hard to point to that one big thing – in fact, I rarely look back. I’ve had a great journey so far, both personally and professionally, and I’m grateful for that.

And your biggest learning?
That you can’t please everyone.

Favourite thing about working for Soho House?
I enjoy the impact that Soho Digital has made to the member experience in a relatively short time. My focus is now on our first digital-only membership.
Our Stories
Our teams in the kitchen create menus that take inspiration from the local culture and food, while also offering House Regulars

Tell us about what you do
I’m currently the Executive Chef of Soho House Hong Kong.

How did you get here?
I started my Soho House journey working at The Ned back in 2017. Since then, I’ve worked at Greek Street, White City, Soho House Mumbai, and most recently Soho House Hong Kong. The move there was spontaneous. I was travelling around Asia and got a call from Martin (COO) to see if I’d be interested in joining the Hong Kong opening team. A few months later I landed.

Favourite food?
It has to be Thai. My mother is from Thailand and I spent a good part of my childhood living there. I also love traditional British fish and chips. I was actually born in Grimsby and can honestly say they have the best fish and chips in the UK. Shout out to Wybers Chippy.

Favourite drink?
I’m really into herbal teas at the moment to look after my health. If I want something a little stronger, my go-to drink is a Negroni.

Who do you admire the most?
My wife, for her understanding and support for my career.

What’s your biggest achievement?
Opening various Houses and learning so much about operations from start to finish. Also, training new staff and watching them grow from pre-opening to a full operational House is a beautiful thing.

And your biggest learning?
Cooking different cuisines and the skills required for House openings.

Favourite thing about working for Soho House?
The team spirit from top to bottom. We are so lucky to attract such talented people, who work hard and are extremely passionate about what they do.
