Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) is the dominant vertically integrated utility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where it serves over 8.8 million+. The principle activity of Saudi Electricity Company (“SEC”) is the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity within the Kingdom - the largest economy in GCC. The company owns 48 major plants with a total capacity of 54.4 Gigawatts (GW), which represents the vast majority of Saudi Arabia's total generation capacity. It is the leading producer of electricity and sole owner of the entire transmission and distribution network throughout the Kingdom, serving all types of consumers. SEC is 81% owned by the Saudi government, of which 6.9% is held indirectly through Saudi Aramco, the national oil company.

And Gulf Business listed Saudi Electricity Company #6 in 2016.
