Our Values

As a health solutions company and insurance provider, we are often able to assist patients in the healing process. We help make sure people can see a doctor and get treatment for a disease or a combat wound. But helping to heal problems like injustice and systemic racism is not as simple as going to the doctor or taking a pill.

Mike Hamerlik, CEO of WPS, has challenged all employees to take part not only in the healing of our nation, but also within ourselves.  “We must be mindful that all real change,” says Mike, “comes from within us. Having empathy and understanding through difficult and honest conversations with ourselves and others is ultimately the best way to move forward.” But as Mike also points out, these conversations must be followed by action.

Military Support
WPS Health Solutions’ deep commitment to supporting our military and veterans is reflected in our hiring practices. Our affinity group for veterans and our Military Affairs Manager assist Human Resources in deciphering military experience in applicant resumes, support veteran employees, and advise the company on military and veterans’ issues.

WPS Health Solutions also recognizes its military and veteran employees in many ways, including honoring the service birthdays of our military branches and other military holidays. The “Meet our Vets” campaign introduces veteran employees to the rest of the company by showing them in their time of service.

LEO Program

Boost
Boost is WPS Health Solutions' employee recognition tool. Boost allows you to give and receive recognition via an internal social platform. You can also receive points-based recognition from WPS leaders and redeem accumulated points for items available in the online rewards catalog.

Green Initiatives
As we upgrade our facilities and systems, our goal is to achieve the highest level of energy efficiency possible. In 2019 alone, WPS completed 10 major energy-efficiency initiatives across our locations. If you’re interested in sustainability, you can join the WPS Green Team. Some of the Green Team’s projects have included upgrading our recycling program, reducing waste associated with printing, and organizing recycling events for employees.
