About Cruise
We’re Cruise, a self-driving car service designed for the cities we love.

We are building the world’s most advanced self-driving vehicles to safely connect people to the places, things, and experiences they care about. We believe self-driving cars will help save lives, reimagine cities, redefine time in transit, and restore freedom of movement for many.

Backed by some of the world’s most respected companies like General Motors, SoftBank, Honda, and T. Rowe Price, we operate as a fast-moving startup with deep financial resources. Their backing for our technology demonstrates their confidence in our progress, team, and vision and makes us one of the leading autonomous vehicle organizations in the industry. Our partnership with General Motors enables us to manufacture a fully-integrated self-driving car that is 100% electric, and we believe this approach is crucial to truly solving transportation challenges at global scale.

Cruisers have the opportunity to define new ways of working and learn from world-class leaders in their field. This is a place where dreamers and doers can succeed.

If you are looking to play a part in making a positive impact in the world by advancing the revolutionary work of self-driving cars, join us. getcruise.com/careers.
Hitting the Accelerator
The Cruise Origin is taking its next steps.

We’ve secured a multi-year $5B line of credit with GM Financial to purchase thousands of Cruise Origin vehicles, and the first test vehicles have just begun production.

Combined with existing committed resources, this gives us access to more than $10B in capital to scale Cruise over the next several years. It’s go time.
A Clean Mile Challenge
While we're proud of our DMV disengagement performance, Cruise’s miles took on new meaning this year.

In 2020, we drove 770,049 CA miles:

⚡️100% electric
🔋100% powered by zero-emission renewable energy
🍎 55% supported fighting hunger

Solve Tech's Toughest Challenge
Whether improving data processing efficiency or modeling simulation systems, Cruise engineers face the toughest challenges across robotics, machine learning, hardware design, and more. And we’re doing it at scale—and fast. We’re gearing up to launch San Francisco’s first fully self-driving rideshare service. Yep, there really won’t be a driver. Our fleet of Chevy Bolts are on the roads of San Francisco, Michigan, and Phoenix, where we navigate thousands of complex driving maneuvers every day.
Join a World-Class Team
We’re looking for the best of the best. That means our engineering talent hails from leading companies like Google, Amazon, NVIDIA, NASA, and Tesla, and we recruit out of top engineering programs at Stanford, MIT, UC Berkeley, Cornell, and more. Our teams work in small groups of six to nine people to create better learning experiences and empower our engineers with more responsibility.
Reap the Reward
Elite talent deserves top-tier compensation now and in the future. For perspective—the global market for personal mobility is worth $6 trillion, and Cruise has potential to take a huge stake. We’re early in our journey, but our valuation has grown 14x since General Motors’ first investment in 2016. In 2018 alone, we raised $5 billion from SoftBank and Honda, but Cruise is like other startups with its own equity and board of directors. If you want to work with a purpose and get rewarded, join us.
Take Care of Yourself
Work-life balance is super important to us, so we offer our employees unlimited vacation time on top of 10 company holidays, flexible work hours, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, family expansion assistance and a monthly wellness stipend, to name just a few perks.
Enjoy Being at Work
Cruise offices offer catered lunch and dinners, a vegan-friendly snack bar and in-office massages—and we know how to have a good time. On top of our penthouse bar and game room, our monthly happy hours, new hire mixers, Hack Weeks, Tech Talks and Cruise Cares community outreach initiatives are a great way for Cruisers to take a breather and mingle.
Stand for Progress
Diverse teams are shown to be more productive, and Cruise has pledged to increase minority representation throughout the company by at least 15% in 2019. But it’s not just about the numbers. Our Cruise employee communities, which range from LGBTQruise to Cruisers From the African Diaspora, ensure that inclusion and belonging are at the heart of Cruise culture.
