Navy Federal offers a career, not just a job. We are proud of the robust Total Rewards package we offer to our employees, including competitive salaries, incentive programs, comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits, retirement plans with employer match, award-winning training programs, professional development programs, tuition assistance, paid leave, and work/life programs.

Mission: As a member-owned and not-for-profit credit union, Navy Federal’s mission is to always put members first. Each area of the credit union operates with the same purpose in mind: making members’ financial goals the top priority. Navy Federal is honored to serve those who serve, with a field of membership comprising all Department of Defense and Coast Guard Active Duty, veterans, civilian and contractor personnel, and their families.

Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
At Navy Federal, we’re intentional about how we show up for the people we employ. Our team members represent all different cultures, ages, genders and perspectives. And, we firmly believe in sharing and celebrating those unique, cultural differences. Most companies promote diversity and inclusion, but we’re focused on ensuring every team member feels comfortable bringing their whole selves to work every day. Creating a community where all our team members feel a sense of respect and belonging is vital to who we are.

“Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging are embedded in our culture and should be represented in every meeting, how we operate, and how we change our behaviors as an organization.” – Holly Kortright, Chief Human Resources Officer

Celebration Through Education

Building a truly inclusive community starts with education. Our Diversity Inclusion & Belonging (DI&B) Academy and Lunch and Learn events provide training and resources for our teams to access if they wish to deepen their understanding of the people, cultures and experiences that make up our organization. Meanwhile, our Inclusion Lab programming helps our leaders engage in inclusive leadership, emphasizing the importance of leading with empathy and authenticity.

We provide opportunities for employees to connect with each other and share what DI&B means to them. We also honor many cultural observances both internally and externally—boldly affirming our support for our diverse team members.

Building Thoughtful Relationships

We’ve continued to build strategic and thoughtful partnerships with organizations that align not only with our values, but also the values of our members and team members. These partnerships range from volunteer and giving opportunities to connecting with various community and social groups like the African American Credit Union Coalition, the Human Rights Coalition and the National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America. By partnering with these groups, our team members have the opportunity to broaden their awareness of communities and needs different from their own. This allows us to better serve our members and foster a culture of understanding and respect for each other.

Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging in the Community

We’re committed to serving the communities that need the most care. Through our Campus Signature Volunteer Program, we support underserved and low-income schools and organizations that focus on education, career readiness and financial literacy. Our hope is to build a stronger future for the youth within these communities. We’ve also expanded our corporate social responsibility, giving efforts to include more causes and organizations that our team members value like Operation Gratitude, Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC), Service Womens Action Network (SWAN) and the Black Veterans Project.

Championing Diverse Talent Communities

Lastly, we strive to be a place where diverse talent communities can grow their careers while being their whole, authentic selves. We’re focused on championing these communities and channels to ensure fair and equitable opportunities, creating peak innovation through diverse perspectives, skills, and experiences. That’s why we partner with groups like Women in Technology, Achieve Escambia, Hiring Our Heroes and Department of Defense SkillBridge to champion greater access and career opportunities for underrepresented groups. We ensure our recruitment efforts to include historically Black colleges and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions and diverse professional associations. Our relationships with organizations like the National Society of Black Engineers, the National Society of Hispanic Engineers, ASCEND and the Society of Women Engineers allow us to connect and recruit students within these communities. And, through our Talent Optimization Pipeline program, we’re able to provide frontline upskilling opportunities in technology, data and cyber security to team members in non-technical positions.

Our commitment to build a stronger, diverse and inclusive workplace is never-ending, but we’re confident our efforts are leading us in the right direction. With the support of our leaders and team members, we’re fully prepared for the work ahead.
