Pinsent Masons named as top five employer in Stonewall's Workplace Equality Index 2020
Pinsent Masons has been ranked as a top five inclusive employer in Britain for the fifth consecutive year by lesbian, gay, bi and trans equality charity Stonewall in its Workplace Equality Index 2020.

The firm's fourth place ranking in the Top 100 Employers list marks the 13th year that Pinsent Masons has featured in the WEI following its debut in 2008 as the first law firm ever to be included

In addition to its place in the index, Pinsent Masons has been named Stonewall's top Northern Ireland employer and has been recognised as top trans employer by Stonewall. This follows the firm's commitment to inclusivity with the launch of a number of initiatives such as staff training focused on gender identity and expression which ensures the firm is an inclusive environment for trans colleagues and clients.
Pinsent Masons announces 2020 partner promotions
We've announced 17 new partners in the 2020 promotion round, including promotions outside of traditional legal services for the first time in our history.

Hayley Boxall has been made partner in Forensic Accounting Services while director of Client Solutions David Halliwell has also been promoted to partner as the firm strengthens its capabilities as a professional services business with law at our core.

Our senior partner Richard Foley says:

"We are incredibly proud of the talent, skill and dedication of all of our people. As we all take stock and adjust to the challenges we face prompted by COVID-19, it's heartening to have some positive news that helps us look to the future. Those promoted strengthen our position as a leading sector-focused, multinational legal services provider and mark an important step in our transition to become a professional services business with law at its core.

"The firm's commitment to provide its clients with innovative, solutions-based legal services is the touchstone of our business. Now, more than ever, developing talent that supports this is critical as our clients grapple with the challenges posed by coronavirus."
Pinsent Masons, along with 16 other firms, have signed a pledge designed to improve the career prospects of ethnic minority lawyers.
We have joined others across the legal profession in pledging our support for the Race Fairness Commitment launched by Rare Recruitment so people of all ethnic backgrounds have an equal chance to succeed. The new pledge commits the law firms’ London offices to several steps designed to improve the career opportunities for ethnic minority lawyers and prevent them from being blocked or dissuaded from senior roles.
