About PFNonwovens
PFNonwovens LLC, (“PFN”), is a manufacturer of specialty nonwoven fabrics which are used in Medical Gowns and Drapes, Face Masks, Baby Diapers, Adult Incontinence Products, Feminine Hygiene Products, and Wipes. We are considered an essential supplier to our customers in the Medical and Consumer Product Industries and are deeply committed to producing high-quality materials for critical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to combat COVID-19. We are conscious to do our part by contributing to the community (sponsorship, donations and affiliations, detailed separately), as well as offering solutions with improved sustainability profiles (good for planet).
PFN is the third largest spunmelt nonwoven producer in the world. Nearly half of the global capacity is located in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. PFN prides itself on producing high quality, specialty and premium fabrics that are preferred by the end consumers. These people are the moms and dads that care for their baby, the medical front-line workers as well as the general public that choose our face mask products. We are a strategic innovation partner for two of the largest diaper companies in the US market and have strong partnerships with several US medical companies who supply protective gear utilized by medical professionals. In Hazleton we have a unique and proprietary Fabric Making technology that creates one of the softest diaper materials in the world and our high barrier line for medical products is the preeminent line in the US. The PFN US site currently holds over 25 pending and granted patents, which sets it apart from its direct competition. Most importantly, our Safety record beats the industry standard by more than 50%.
Our Company has a very strong and long-lasting legacy. The Hazleton site has been in continuous operation since the late 1990s and was part of the First Quality group. In 2018, First Quality Nonwovens merged with Pegas Nonwovens to establish PFN, which combined two of the most respected nonwoven companies in the world. PFN has manufacturing sites in four countries: Czech Republic, USA, Egypt and South Africa.
We are a leader in our field both in terms of size and innovative solutions. We are actively expanding and growing – installing a new line during 2021 and already preparing for further expansion. Our investment is a demonstration that we are committed to the Hazleton area and to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We are proud of our role as a good corporate citizen and remain dedicated to our social responsibility.
Our company’s greatest asset is our people, and we have developed a very robust, experienced and dedicated team. We have a corporate culture that promotes strong family values and we are committed to our local communities, including Hazleton. PFNonwovens is dedicated to empowering team members to be successful, to grow their careers through advancement opportunities and challenging leadership roles. We utilize lean manufacturing techniques in a technically advanced environment to provide best in class nonwovens to world-class customers in the Hygiene, Medical and Wipes and specialty nonwovens markets.
